Thankful

Where has time gone? Luca will be 9 Months old on the 24th and  he's crawling! He doesn't want to crawl everywhere yet, it seems like he doesn't want to work at getting anywhere. Instead, he just wants to be held. Go figure... I have successfully spoiled the boy. Although the holding can be tedious and inconvenient, I know he wont want to be held forever... so I will endure the cuddles and hold him when he wishes. I consider it my weight training. =) He'll stop by age 10 right?

So here is a brief summary of things we have been up to the last few months:

Hanging with cousins and going hiking

We went camping with my side of the family to Malibu. It was so much fun... definitely harder with a baby, but many hands make the load light. It was great! Definitely a blessing to be able to spend some quiet time with Amy and Hal before the moved.
Visiting Grammy

Last Bath at Pelanconi and heres a picture of us visiting Dolores and swimming in her pool.

First army crawl... going for a basketball.

Amy and Hal moved to Turkey. This was the day before the left. Lots of tears but so excited for what the Lord has in store for them. We miss them already but look forward to lots of Skype dates!

Luca got his first real sickness... some kind of stomach bug. He threw up and was just not himself for about 4 days.
Daddy's new trick.. Luca loves to be rough and wrestle. He also loves to cuddle with his mama..=)

The BARE crawl
Evening stool with mommy and daddy

He is getting so big...
Luca keeps on getting more and more fun. He's so expressive and lets you know how he feels right away. He loves the details of his toys and gets bored really fast. He's sweet with his mama and loves to nurse. He adores his daddy and loves waiting for him to come home from work. We are truly blessed by the Lord. I praise Him every day for all that He has given me since I have done nothing to deserve any of it.

Until next time...

but for now...I need to go attend to the life happening in Luizzi land...

Summa Time

So I have been a bit busy and have not stopped to write about our life. So here I am, Luca is asleep and I have a few moments to record what we have been up to.

6 Month Dr. Check up

He is 7 months now and I still can't believe I have a baby, let alone a 7 month old! Ahh!! He is Sitting up all by himself with the occasional falling backwards, he is in the crawling position pumping his hips, grunting and growling and also, diving out of our arms. He is sometimes crazy. =)

7 MONTHS OLD

My angel playing with an angel

Learning how to BBQ

These last few months have been pretty busy but with all sorts of fun stuff. We went on our first family vacation, just the three of us. We went to Ventura and stayed in the Embassy Suites so Luca could have his own room. Another post to come for that.

I am in a small group with some ladies from church and we are going through 6 different topics that relate to this time in our lives such as parenting, marriage and home management... etc. It has been such a huge highlight this summer, I have learned a ton and have become friends or better friends with ladies from church and I am so thankful for them.

We are waiting to move into a two bedroom Duplex, our landlord has another property on the other side of town which he has been renovating the last year. Its taking quite a bit longer than expected from our point of view so I have been tested as to whether or not I truly trust God and want His will. It's been sanctifying, although I feel like I fail at being content with His will all the time. I'm just thankful the Lord is patient with me despite my lack.

My sister and brother in law celebrated their 10 year wedding anniversary while both turning 30 this year. I can't believe I have known Ian for over 10 years... they began dating at age 14. Its too cute. But I am so thankful for both of them. I am always at their house since Luca loves the entertainment provided by Cade and Reese. Soon enough Drew and Luca will be wrestling in the pool too!

My parents are planing a family camping trip next month so more posts to come about that. Until then, this is Life in Luizzi Land... I wonder who actually reads this.. feel free to comment if you do. I'm just currious.

The Joys of Being Luca's Mama

Luca Update:
Luca is already 5.5 months old! I cannot believe how fast time has gone by. Luca has officially gotten two teeth! The week of May 25th was horrible because the two bottom teeth broke through. Our poor boy was in so much pain but by the grace of God, he continued to sleep through the night (11+ hours). Although, he didn't nap well at all, but I would rather have a good night sleep and hold him all day than no sleep at night and hold him all day. ;)

Teething nap
Crazy uncle Ian calming Luca down

We Dedicated Luca at church on May 18th.  We pray the Lord would continue to give us wisdom and discernment to raise Luca in the fear of the Lord. Our greatest desire is for Luca to be granted repentance and faith in Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior one day. That he would fear God and obey him.

Luca loves the ZOO

He is such a talkative little boy. He mumbles and grunts and has officially sat up for more that 15 seconds on his own. He LOVES to sit up. So that means, he hates to lay down. He seems to always be onto the next thing, he's so observant and his strength is growing (physically). He gets bored really easily and always wants to be outside. I find myself standing on the corner of Pelanconi and Glenoaks all the time. I even have a tan to prove it. This boy loves the sounds of the cars and wind. He will definitely be an outdoorsy boy!
He loves his daddy

We have been visiting Nick a few times a month. Luca loves seeing his daddy and of course, Nick loves seeing Luca! We usually go out to lunch after with my dad and Ian. It's a really sweet time.

Cousin Cades T-Ball game

This boy will smile at his anutie JuJu (Julie) no matter what mood he is in. It is the sweetest thing. She has the look that gets the smile. =)

Thighs.

I have been giving him Fermented Cod Liver oil and he does great with it. He gives me a grossed out look as he swallows it but that's how I look when I take it, so its all good. The only bummer to giving him the Cod Liver is that when he spits up after eating it sometimes smells like fish... that's gross... sorry, its my life. I just hope most of it stays in him.

Luca loves to wrestle... already. You are probably thinking that I'm crazy for wrestling with my 5 month old but before you call child services just know its Nick wrestling him... not me. ;) haha! Just kidding. Nick simple holds him tight and twists around with him on the couch... Luca laughs so hard its the cutest thing EVER!! I love watching the two of them bond and be boys, it makes me wonder what kind of a crazy boy Luca is going to be. ;) I love this boy so much.

We should be starting solid food in the next few weeks. I think Luca will love it but we shall see.

Until next time...
